VI Company is proud to announce that Maryn Conen has been appointed as Chief Technical Officer (CTO) as of April 1. Maryn takes this step after working for more than ten years for Cardano, an international risk and pension specialist. With Maryn as CTO, VI Company sets course to further strengthen its expertise and position within the fintech domain and raise it to a higher level.

“With his past experience at Cardano as a quant, developer and later as CTO, Maryn brings an enormous amount of knowledge and expertise”, Kees de Koning, founder and CEO of VI Company, explains. With his extensive background, Maryn is set to sink his teeth into VI Company’s technical challenges.

Growth
In his position as CTO, Maryn will work on, among other things, the optimization of the software development teams, the implementation of new technologies, and channeling the knowledge and ambitions of colleagues. ‘I will do that as an enabler, by first making sure that developers and engineers stay passionate about their work and that they can grow personally and professionally.'

Technical vision
VI Company is excited about Maryn’s arrival. “Maryn brings a fantastic combination of pragmatics, technical knowledge, financial background, empathy, and audacity to define and execute the technical vision. Previously at Cardano, now at VI Company. VI Company has never had a CTO before, but the phase and maturity we are in now make it a very pleasant addition to the fantastic team of almost 50 ambitious colleagues.’

Maryn first came in contact with VI Company in 2014. As Cardano's technical lead at the time, Maryn collaborated with developers from VI Company on the PensionSim - an interactive simulation that mimics a digital financial reality and teaches executives how to deal with long-term risks. “A large part of the team I worked with then is still here. I’m glad I get to work with them again!”, Maryn says.

That being said, welcome to the team Maryn!
