Why VI Company works with two environmentally-friendly data centers

In today's world, sustainability is increasingly important. At VI Company, we want to contribute our bit to the environment, as we have always cared about it a lot. Therefore, we've worked hard to ensure our office is sustainable.

For example, we avoid plastic coffee cups, separate waste, use Join the Pipe water bottles, switched to a different tea brand to avoid plastic-wrapped tea bags, and encourage the use of bicycles and public transportation. In the same spirit, we've consciously opted for two data centers that take sustainability and environmental factors into account. How do our customers and the environment benefit from this choice? We'll explain it in this blog.

Wait. Isn't one data center enough?

Well, not if you ask us. When it comes to our customers' uptime, we like to double down on playing it safe. Working with two data centers (in two different locations) helps us in this regard. How? If there's an issue in one location, we automatically switch to the other. The result: downtime is reduced to the absolute minimum.

We periodically test this in practice. Every month, we switch our projects from one data center to the other. This way, we can see whether the switching goes as smoothly as we want it to, so our customers benefit from the highest possible uptime.

How about the sustainability part?

The data centers we opted to attach great value to sustainability and social responsibility. They are constantly on the lookout for new technologies to improve the sustainability of their services. Current environmentally-friendly features include an energy-efficient cooling system, minimized electricity consumption through smart lighting, and energy-saving ventilation, heating, and air-conditioning systems.

So, like VI Company, these data centers have taken measures regarding the environment, taking future generations into account – and that is why we decided to continue to work with them!
